I guess that question could be taken several ways.
Today I’m talking about personal responsibility.
Do you own your life? Do you take responsibility for the choices you have or haven’t make?
Because not making a choice is actually letting someone else make your choice and that in itself is a choice.
But really. Who you are today is a reflection of the life you have led and the choices you have made in the past.
You may not be proud of the choices but they were still your choices at the time and you have to own them.
This is something I struggle with in my life.
It’s very easy to put the blame on someone else. It’s very easy to say it’s not your fault. But it is your fault. And no I’m not talking about violence committed against you. I’m talking about choices you have deliberately or not so deliberately made in your life.
If there is something you don’t like your life you have to take responsibility for that and make changes. That’s what being an adult is all about.
If you tell me you hate your job I’ll probably question you further. Why do you hate it? Are there any changes you could make to make the situation better?
Could you find another job? Could you start a part-time business?
What can you do with what you have control over?
What can you do with your time and energy?
If you don’t love your life or don’t love something in your life then do something to change it.
Do something besides complaining about it.
Own your life. It’s the only one you will ever get.
What are you doing to own your life today?
Tell me about it in the comments below.
