The start of new projects, ideas and creations can be hard. Where do you start? There are so many things you “must” do.
If you are starting a business you must have a blog or website, you must have a facebook page, you must tweet to people, you must have an Instagram account.
Now Periscope has come on the scene and that is the latest “must do”.
If you are starting a book you “must” have it in the proper format. It “must” contain at least 30,000 words. It “must” be professionally edited. It “must” have an awesome cover.
If you are starting an art journal. You “must” use this special journal. You “must” use these special pens. You “must” follow the rules!
So slowly take a deep breath! Now take another one. Now for the third.
Are you feeling calmer? Great! Me too! Let’s take this one step at a time.
Now who is making the rules? The ones that everyone says you “must” follow?
The people selling the stuff that they say you need.
If it’s not those people then it’s the people who are listening to those very people and believing that they “must” have this stuff.
That you “must” have their stuff to complete your project.
And I’m telling you now that’s just not true. You “must” start where you are.
Start with what you know and branch out from there. You “must” use the easiest, quickest route to get your stuff done so you can share it with the world.
That’s what’s important. That’s what you “must” do.
It’s not important that it’s perfect. It’s not important if your family thinks it’s stupid. It’s not important that it’s not how everyone else does it.
Do it your way. That’s what is important.
Make your own rules! That’s the only path to true happiness.
What “must dos” are you leaving behind today?
