How to Increase your Energy and Get more Done
What do you do if you want to increase your energy? If you want to get more done?
Although it seems counter intuitive, if you want to increase your energy and get more done you need to exercise. You need to do more during the day.
There is a reason most successful people start their day off with exercise.
It gives you more energy so you can get things done.
I always thought I didn’t have the time or energy to exercise. I was always too tired to exercise. It’s funny that something you think makes you tired and takes up time would actually give you more energy and help you get more done.
It’s crazy. It has to do with one of the laws of motion. Once you start doing something it’s easier to keep going and get things done. But if you never start you get nothing done.
|First law:||When viewed in an inertial reference frame, an object either remains at rest or continues to move at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by an external force|
You have to exert the force. If you don’t act you will still be there sitting on the couch watching The Voice. Not that The Voice is bad, but don’t you have goals you want to meet? Don’t you have projects to finish?
The best inertia breaker is a timer. If you think you are too tired and don’t have enough time to get something done or complete an exercise routine just set a timer for 10 minutes. Getting started is usually the hardest part.
And you may be too tired. You may stop after 10 minutes. But you may also get a second wind and get a lot more done than you thought you could.
So get out your timer and get started.
What do you have to lose? Is someone going to give you a magic pill to boost your energy? Is someone going to get up and take care of that responsibility for you? Or will it still be there waiting for you tomorrow when you are even more tired and have to get even more done because you didn’t do anything yesterday?
What’s stopping you from getting things done?
