My Story

Hello!  I’20160522_104650m Rebecca.  In 2011 I decided I didn’t like my life and I wanted to change it.  I started writing a list of everything I didn’t like or want in my life on a yellow legal pad.  When I got done with that I tore out the sheet and flipped it over.  Then wrote everything I did want in my life. I started making changes to my life based on what I wrote on my “want list”.

Then I started noticing I was having allergy symptoms after I ate breakfast.  Since I just ate toast for breakfast I decided to see if there was such a thing as a wheat allergy.  Who knew?  I started on my journey to eating gluten free.  After cutting wheat out of my diet I soon learned that I also had issues with other grains.  So I cut all grain except for rice out of my diet.  And I entered the world of paleo or paleoish eating.  The more changes I made to my diet the better I felt.

In 2014 I decided to get back to my yoga roots. I loved going to yoga when my kids were young.  It was the only time I could lay down and be still and know I wouldn’t get interrupted.  I started out going just once a week.  I now go twice a week to yoga and twice a week to the gym.  I also occasionally make it into town for Saturday belly dancing class.  It’s great fun.  (Belly dancing has now been cancelled.  Sigh.)

In 2015 I found the planner community.  I was a planner girl and I didn’t even know it.  I have been experimenting with various planners and finally developed my own GTD Planner.

In 2016 I finally found the magical secret that allows me to work hard, exercise regularly and have fun with my family.  It’s FAT!  Yes FAT.  Once I started increasing the good fats in my diet major changes started happening.  I’m eating even better and snacking less.  I have more energy and I’m happier.  A lot of my health problems floated away on a river of butter, steak and coconut oil.

At the end of 2016 I wrote down my system.  I wrote down how I was Creating my Goals, Planning my Projects and Building my Habits.  I published it on Amazon for the world to read.  That was the first time I actually took an idea from conception to execution.  If you are anything like me you have lots of ideas.  Lots of plans.  And never enough time to get everything done.  I figured out how to prioritize and get done the things I really needed to get done and I learned how not to worry about everything else.

In 2017 I decided to make a physical manifestation of my roadmap via my Roadmap Journal.  I also set goals for each quarter and worked towards them.  One of those goals is to have my own line of scrapbook paper, stickers, ephemera and inserts to go along with my Roadmap Journal.  This is a project I’m working on with my mother.  I’ll keep you posted and let you know how it goes.
