My Word of the Year
I love a challenge. I love trying new things. I often move from project to project and plan to plan.
A word of the year is a new concept for me. Once I heard about it I thought it was a good idea. My word this year needs to be about what I need most for my life. As I thought about it I also thought about what I wanted to accomplish in 2016. And there is a lot I want to accomplish this year. I decided my word should be FOCUS because that is what I need to do.
It’s funny how things happen in life. The next day I listened to an Entrepreneur on Fire Podcast. John Lee Dumas spoke of his definition of the word FOCUS: Follow One Course Until Success. Yes I thought! That is exactly what I need to do. I want to Follow One Course Until I am Successful. Hearing that definition validated my choice.
If you want to know more about choosing a word for this year check out Mike Ashcraft’s book “My One Word: Change Your Life With Just One Word.” Now I have to be honest. I haven’t read Mike’s book yet. It is on my reading list. I loved the concept and couldn’t wait. It was something I needed in my life now.
I have set this image as my computer background so I can see it and remind myself to FOCUS!
