What are you saying to yourself? Do you stop and listen to the voice in your head? I mean really listen to what you are saying to yourself?
The person that you speak to most often is yourself.
Do you like what you are hearing?
Are you helping or harming yourself?
That little voice in your head is YOU. And YOU can change what you are telling yourself.
If you are constantly telling yourself that you are fat. That you are ugly. That you are stupid. Do you know what you are going to be? Fat, ugly and stupid. All of those things come from inside of you. It doesn’t matter what the outside looks like. You can change that. But what is inside will always shine through.
I am really bad about saying I can’t remember names. I find myself zoning out when someone introduces theirself. And I don’t remember their name. I was about to type another negative habit I have but I stopped myself.
You want to know now don’t you? Okay I was going to say that I am a visual learner and I have trouble remembering things when someone just tells me instead of sending me an email. I usually have pen and paper in hand and make notes, but I often forget if I haven’t written it down. I wonder how much of that is because I’ve been telling myself I won’t remember? I guess I’ll have to change my words and see what happens.
So if you don’t like what you are saying to yourself find some new words. New positive words that you keep saying to yourself. Make a conscious effort to only speak positively to yourself.
Don’t fuss at yourself if you catch yourself in negative self talk, just change your words.
What negative things are you telling yourself? What positive things are you going to start saying?
